Dr. Ilya Livshin was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and came to the United States in 1978. He grew up in Brookline, MA, received his baccalaureate degree at Boston University, and then graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He now lives in Canton, MA, with his wife and two children.
Always passionate about contributing to the health and well-being of other people combined with his desire to serve his country, Dr. Livshin was a dentist in the United States Air Force for three years during the turbulent period surrounding 9/11. In the Air Force Dr. Livshin completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Bolling Air Force Base, Washington DC, where he received certification in nitrous oxide and conscious sedation. Dr. Livshin is trained in the safe and effective use of oral and intravenous sedation for fearful patients and those undergoing invasive procedures like the removal of impacted wisdom teeth.
Dr. Livshin is committed to helping people with severe anxiety that have neglected their teeth for years. "Too many people live with pain, the inability to chew, and embarrassing teeth because they are terrified of the dentist. I want to change all that,"says Dr. Livshin. Dr. Livshin believes nobody should be left behind. Everyone is entitled to good oral health. Sedation dentistry has eliminated the barrier of receiving treatment for apprehensive patients so they can have the same quality of life as everyone else.
